Type: Czech Republik, 'Mnichovice, silva "Jidášky" dicta, in carbonario vetusto muscoso in agro ad marginem silvae, inter gramina 30. IX. 1931 leg. Velenovský (sed secundum Velen. solum "ad terram nudam", non in carbonario), (holotype PRM 150329)

Apothecia: 2-4 mm in diameter, with prominent menbranaceous margin, hymenium orange
Asci: 250-295(-315) x 19-25(-27) µm, 8-spored, spores uniseriate
Ascospores: globose, (16-)18-20(-22) µm (inclusive ornamentation), ornamentation consisting of ridges (0.3-)0.8-3(-4) µm wide and 0.5-1.5(-2.5) µm high, forming a reticulum with 3-5 irregular sized meshes/diameter, sometimes the reticulum is more regular.
Host: Ceratodon purpureus
Distribution: Canary Islands, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany (SH, TH), Hungary, Norway, Portugal, Scotland, Spain, The Netherlands
Note: Similar to Lamprospora pseudoarvensis but differs from that species in apothecia with an higher, more conspicuous margin, smaller ascospores with an more irregular reticulum as well as the host. Older reports may actually repesent L. pseudoravensis and have to be checked.
