1: Lamprospora dictydiola, apothecium on sandstone with Tortula muralis |
2: Lamprospora dictydiola, ascus with ascospores |
Apothecia: 1-2 mm, orange to orange-red, with prominent membranaceous margin
Asci: 8-spored, spores uniseriate
Ascospores: subglobose, 14-16(-17) x 13-15(-16) µm, ornamentation consisting of ridges ca. 0.3 µm wide, forming a fine-meshed reticulum with (9-)11-15(-20) meshes/diameter
Hosts: Tortula muralis
Habitat: on stone, especially sandstone, with the host
Distribution: rare in Germany (BB, BW, NI, RP, SN, TH), also known from Canary Islands, Czech Republic, France, Georgia, Hungary, Italy, Portugal, The Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, Ukraine, United Kingdom
Notes: In the past L. dictydiola was often confused with L. carbonicola which has similar spores. However, L. dictydiola has a different host and occurs in a totally different habitat.
