Apothecia: 0.8-1 mm in diameter, with membranaceous margin, hymenium brownish to dark-red
Asci: 8-spored, spores uniseriate
Ascospores: globose, (12-)13-15 µm in diameter, ornamentation consisting of ridges (0.3-)0.5(-0.6) µm wide forming a more or less regular areolate reticulum of 4-7(-8) meshes/diameter
Hosts: Barbula unguiculata and Barbula convoluta
Infectious structures: infects rhizoids and rarely leafs
Habitat: in open habitats on soil with pioneer-mosses
Distribution: scattered in Germany (BB, MV, NI, SN, TH) also known from Norway, United Kingdom
Notes: differs from Lamprospora miniata De Not. var. miniata by slightly smaller spores and the restriction to the moss genus Barbula
