Apothecia: 1-4 mm in diameter with prominent membranaceous margin, hymenium orange-red
Asci: 8-spored, spores uniseriate
Ascospores: subglobose to broadly ellipsoid, 17-21 x 14-16(-17) µm, ornamentation consisting of ridges about 0.5 µm wide, forming an ± regular, areolate reticulum with 8-12 meshes/diameter
Host: Syntrichia ruralis, Syntrichia virescens, Syntrichia spec.
Habitat: on soil or stones with mosses, often near rivers
Distribution: Antarctica (South-Orkney Islands, Bouvet Islands), Czech Republic (Janošík unpublished), Germany (BW, BE, BB, MV, RP, ST, TH), The Netherlands, Slovakia (Janošík unpublished), Sweden (Isaksson 2022), Switzerland (Senn-Irlet et al. 2021)
