Apothecia: 2-4 mm in diameter with broad membranaceous margin, hymenium orange to red
Asci: 230-310 x 18-28 µm, 8-spored, spores uniseriate
Ascospores: globose, (15-)16-19(-21) µm in diameter, ornamentation consisting of ridges 0.5-1(-1.5) µm broad, forming an alveolate reticulum with 8-12 meshes/diameter
Hosts: Syntrichia ruralis agg.
Infectious structures: infects rhizoids
Habitat: in open habitats on soil or on stones with thin soil layer
Distribution: rare in Germany (BY, HE, MV, RP, TH) also known from Czech Republic, The Netherlands, France, Sweden
