Apothecia: 0,5-2 mm in diameter, margin not differntiated or somewhat pubescent, hymenium orange
Asci: 8-spored, spores biseriate
Ascospores: narrowly ellipsoid to narrowly fusiform, (20-)24-30(-33) x (7-)8-10(-11) µm, smooth, mostly with four oil droplets two larger ones in the center and two smaller ones near the ends
Hosts: Bryum spp. and Encalypta vulgaris, Bryum klinggraeffii is the most frequent host, rarely on Acaulon muticum
Infectious structures: infects leafs, stems and rhizoid gemmae
Habitat: on soil, in open and dry habitats, mostly dry grasland
Distribution: Austria, Czech Republik, France, Germany (common, BW, BY, BB, HE, HH, MV, RP, SN, ST, SH, TH), Hungary, Italy (Janošík unpublished), Slovakia (Janošík unpublished), Spain, United Kingdom, United States
