Apothecia: 1-3 mm in diameter, margin with stiff, hyaline hairs, hymenium pale-orange
Asci: 8-spored, spores uniseriate
Ascospores: ellipsoid, 14-17(-18) x 9-10.5(-12) µm, smooth, one oil droplet
Hosts: Ceratodon purpureus and Funaria hygrometrica
Infectious structures: infects rhizoids
Habitat: in open habitats on disturbed soil with pioneer bryophytes, especially on burned ground
Distribution: many European countries i.e. Germany (scattered BW, BY, BB, HH, MV, NI, NW, SN, ST, SH, TH), Svalbard, North America
