Apothecia: 1-2 mm in diameter, with weak membranaceous margin or margin somewhat pubescent and slightly elevated, hymeium orange
Asci: mostly 4-spored but also 2-,3-,5-,6- and 7-spored, spores uni- to biseriate
Ascospores: ellipsoid sometimes one side narrower than the other, (22-)23-27(-30) x (10-)11-13(-14) µm, smooth, one or two large and several small oil droplets
Host: Bryum argenteum
Infectious structures: infects the rhizoids
Habitat: on disturbed soil with Bryum argenteum, often at urban sites, on potting soil in greenhouses and garden centres
Distribution: Austria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Germany (common, BE, BB, HE, HH, MV, SN, SH, TH), Hungary, The Netherlands, Norway, Slovakia (Janošík unpublished), Sweden (Isaksson 2022)
