Apothecia: 1-2 mm in diameter with inconspicuous to prominent membranaceous margin, hymenium pale orange to orange, margin paler
Asci: 8-spored, spores uni- or biseriate
Ascospores: ellipsoid to broadly ellipsoid, often asymmetrical with one side more flattened than the other, (15)17-19(20) x 10-12(13) µm, ornamentation consisting of isolated warts, spores at maturity with one or two oil droplets
Host: Orthotrichum diaphanum
Infectious structures: induces galls on the apical cell of rhizoids, the surface of the galls is completely coverd with hyphae
Habitat: on bark or rarely on stone always between shoots of Orthotrichum diaphanum
Distribution: Czech Republic, France, Germany (BW, BE, BB, HE, HH, MV, NI, TH), Hungary (Németh et al. 2022), Norway (Kristiansen 2013), Slovakia, Switzerland, The Netherlands, United States
Notes: It was included in section Wrightoideae by Benkert (1998a) but this was proven wrong by Sochorová et al. (2020)
