Apothecia: 1-4 mm in diameter, margin somewhat pubescent first whitish and later becoming black, hymenium brownish-orange
Paraphyses: apically slightly curved
Asci: 8-spored, spores uniseriate
Ascospores: ellipsoid, 20-22 x 14.5-16 µm with one large oil droplet, ornamentation consisting of isolated warts
Host: Schistidium crassipilum rarely Racomitrium heterostichum (Eckstein et al. 2020)
Infectious structures: induces galls on the rhizoids, galls usually completely covered with hyphae
Habitat: in open habitats on limestone boulders at the base of Schistidium-tufts
Distribution: Austria, Czech Republic (Janošík unpublished), Germany (rare, BY, NI, TH), Hungary, Slovakia (Janošík unpublished), Spain, Sweden (Isaksson 2022)
Note: The collections on Racomitrium heterostichum may represent a separate taxon.
