Apothecia: growing solitary or in groups on soil among the host moss, globose when young, later barrel-shaped or cup-shaped, sessile, orange, up to 0.50.8 mm in diam, with inconspicuous margin
Paraphyses: septate, slender, mostly straight, some slightly bent and occasionally bifurcated, apical cell not or only slightly inflated (19)2737(40) x (3.3)4.35.7(5.9) µm, with a low content of carotenoid pigment (turning green in IKI)
Asci: (183)184222(258) x (15.9)17.120.6(21.4) µm; cylindrical, narrowing toward the base, unitunicate, operculate, inamyloid, with a hemispherical apex, 8-spored
Ascospores: fusiform, (22.9)23.226.3(26.6) x (8.6)9.510.8(11.8) µm; Q = (2.1)2.32.6(2.9), hyaline, containing two large LBs 68 µm in diam. and usually also one to two smaller ones; biseriate or less often subbiseriate arranged in the ascus; cell wall at poles somewhat thickened; ornamentation consists of elongated and bent grooves, 45(6) per surface view, which sometimes do not extend all the way from one pole to the other
Host: Aschisma carniolicum
Infectious structures: infects the stem, basal leaf cells, and rhizoids, appressoria 1-celled or with one septum, broadly ellipsoid, 1225 µm long, 812 µm wide and 918 µm high
Habitat: disturbed soil, mainly in open and dry grassland
Distribution: Spain (Andalucía, Castilla y León, La Rioja)
