Apothecia: 1-2.5 mm in diameter, with prominent membranaceous, dentate margin, hymenium orange to orange-red
Asci: 260-340 x 18-25 µm, 8-spored, uniseriate
Ascospores: globose, inclusive ornamentation 16-19 µm in diameter, exclusive ornamentation 14-16 µm in diameter, ornamentation consisting of ridges 0.8-1.2(-1.5) µm broad and 1 µm high forming an areolate, large-meshed reticulum of the Campylopodis-subtype with 3-5(6) meshes per diameter
Host: Ceratodon purpureus
Habitat: on nutrient-poor, sandy soil with Ceratodon purpureus
Distribution: Czech Republic (Janošík unpublished), Germany (TH), Hungary, Norway, Sweden (Isaksson 2022)
Note: It ist very similar to L. feurichiana and the differences of these two species are not yet fully resolved. The spores seem to be slightly larger with 16–19 µm compared with 15-17 µm in L. feurichiana including ornamentation.
